Lodging in Fort Worth

My daughter and I will be attending a multi-day event in Fort Worth in April. The event will take place in the new Dickies Arena. We are not renting a car, so we would like a hotel within a reasonable walking distance of the arena. I'd like to pay $200 or less per night. I am somewhat mobility challenged right now, but can certainly manage a couple of blocks as long as it is not through a sketchey area. We can do Uber, but sometimes it is problematic to make the connection when lots of people are around. I appreciate any advice you can offier. Thanks.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott is about 0.7 miles from Dickies Arena. I can't tell how good the walking might be over the major freeway. It would be much better to use Uber or a taxi IMO.

SpringHill Suites is going to be about a 20 minute walk from Dickies Arena. If you are mobility challenged you may not want to walk that distance.

Unfortunately there are not any hotels/motels that are going to be within a shorter walking distance of Dickies Arena. Your best bet is to pick a hotel either in downtown or on the west side of Fort Worth that is within your budget and rely on Uber or a taxi for your transportation.

By the way, if you choose a hotel in downtown Fort Worth you’ll only be a 5 minute drive from the Arena but you’ll be within walking distance of dozens of restaurants that you can visit in your off hours. Check out Embassy Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express (this last one is a bit further walk from the restaurants) to see if they are in your price range. If not, check out the Residence Inn by Marriott on Stanton Street - it’s in a very safe area on the west side of Fort Worth just a mile or so from downtown (maybe 2 miles from Dickies Arena) and within walking distance of Montgomery Plaza and the South 7th area where you’ll find dozens of restaurants.

The Residence Inn is your best bet. It is just south of 7th St. before it turns into Bowie. There is a new DASH bus (electric) that runs on 7th and has a stop at Dickies Arena. As RoamsAround said - lots of food choices in Montgomery Plaza and along 7th. You can't beat $2/ride or $5 for the day on an electric bus.

Thanks for this info. We've been to Fort Worth before, but stayed within walking distance of the convention center/old arena. Very interested in the DASH option for getting back and forth to Dickies. I'll need to investigate this further and determine where the stops are.

As always, you guys always provide prompt, correct info. I really appreciate it.

(Note: Sorry for the duplicate post on this. The first one didn't show up and I thought I had lost it.)

The W 7th & Stayton bus stop is in front of the Tom Thumb which is about a 5-6 minute walk from the Residence Inn & Suites. Most of the day the DASH buses are on a 15 minute schedule.
Coming back from the Dickies Arena, the stop is the end of the line at Gendy & Harley. The 7th & Stayton stop eastbound is just east of Stayton about a 4 minute walk from Residence Inn & Suites.
