Lodging in Breckenridge

Please help us find a quiet romantic place to stay in this town. I am overwhelmed by the amount of bad reviews on hotels & B&B's on TripAdvisor. We live in Grand Junction & are just looking for a quiet, romantic 3-day getaway under $200 a night. Just want to stroll the shop, eat & relax in mid-Sept. Thanks so much...

We stayed at the Valdoro (not sure of spelling) Mountain Lodge over the 4th of July and loved it. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. It is a Hilton Grand Vacation Resort. We stayed using Hilton points, so I don't know the actual cost, but we had a very nice 2 bedroom unit with balcony.

Thank you -- this looks beautiful & must be quite popular, because I've just been on the phone with Orbitz & the place is completely booked for all of September!

You didn't ask for restaurant recommendations but thought you might like to know that during a recent visit to Breckenridge, we had dinner at the Alpine Cafe and it was fabulous. Excellent food and great service. They have indoor and outdoor seating (we sat outdoors) and it was one of the best dining experiences we had during our 2 week stay in Colorado.

Breckenridge is King for rental houses on VRBO.com. most of these are very nice and a short distance from downtown. most of them are near peak 8. When are you going?
