Lodging Glenwood Springs, CO

My husband and I are in the process of planning a two week motorcycle trip through parts of Utah and Colorado. I would love to see the Aspen area. We are planning on staying in Glenwood Springs and would like recommendations for lodging and dining downtown as in the evening we will need to walk to dinner. Any recommendations for Glenwood Springs and surrounding areas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I recommend the Hot Springs Lodge. The nightly rate includes unlimited access to the Hot Springs pool.

The Hotel Denver is right across the river from the pool and is another choice. http://www.thehoteldenver.com/

Thank you both for your reply. Both of your suggestions look terrific. Not sure we will have much time for the pool so the Denver Hotel looks like a good possibility. Have you stayed there? Any restaurant ideas?

The restaurant I remember is called The Rivers Restaurant--http://www.theriversrestaurant.com/. But it would be a little far to walk from the Hotel Denver.

Though the Denver is close to the springs, the rooms are overpriced, rundown (even ragged). However, the public areas are nice. There are a couple of newer motels on the next block, also close proximity to the pool, but the Lodge is a good idea.

For a fine meal I recomend "Jucy Lucys" Steak house .
Wonderful food and service.
Its a Close walk to both the Lodge and Hotel Denver.
We always stay at the lodge while in town and enjoy the pool
