Lively , Lovely Maui Resort?
What are some top resorts on Maui that have beautiful rooms & views, on the beach, with plenty of activities? Upscale but not too quiet. Having restaurants/bars within walking distance would be a huge plus.

Looking for good weather, beautiful beaches and plenty to do day & night. People have been suggesting Ka'anapali. I would love to stay at a resort over a condo but they're SOOO expensive! $500 + per night! I think we would have to cap it at $300ish. Any ideas?

I've known more than one person who got the Hyatt for $150. per night (if you're willing to do Priceline). Otherwise just shop. I'm staying in the Grand Wailea for a little over $300. per night in June. I just kept checking their website for the best rate. Sometimes I also call the property and ask for their best rate. It can be done... Persevere...

Friends have stayed at the Hyatt on a 5th night free special. I agree with "keep trying".
If you aren't already a member of their Gold Passport program, join so you'll be sent any specials that come up.
I check some dates in July and they have rooms in the $300 range with a hyatt.com special.

You coulf probably get the Sheraton Maui for about $140 a night through Priceline. If you do, get a Starwood Card, call and let them know you are a Starwood member and remind them again when you check in. This could get you a great upgrade depending on how full the hotel is.

Ditto's to the above. Do a LOT of internet checking. I fly there every week, and love the area, so I would highly recommend it. Avoid the Kaanapali Beach Hotel if you can--we got stuck in the "dorm wing" in December and it was gross (but they have an awesome beach).

we've stayed several of top resorts and Kea Lani always wins the "will go back to" award. Absolutely stunning SUITE rooms...gorgeous beach...Nicks Fish Mkt...but it is Wailea..a ways from all the action in Lahaina. Choice in that area would be the Hyatt...perhaps even a better choice if you have children. They have a great pool!

I got $225 a night at the Sheraton for 7 days mid-late March by bidding on Priceline. The hotel's website quotes $485 per night for our dates, so we're really excited! Thanks so much for the suggestions! Do you think we should do car rental on priceline also?
