liquids/gels
the last time i flew (a month ago), the rules were no liquids/gels over 3oz and they must be in a clear plastic bag..is this still the case? I would rather carry on, but tired of losing products each time I fly!

yes all liquids and gels must still be in 3oz or under containers. the plastic bag MUST be a quart size or they can/will pitch it.
all items purchased after tsa are taken from you after purchase and delivered at your gate. you need to ask them for your stuff at the gate..
if you then must change planes you will have to pick up your checked bags and that is a good time to put any purchase you've made in, as it will probably not be permitted on your connecting plane.

Unless your items are bought at stores PAST the security screening.
Yeah, that's a big rip-off that someone should look into. During my last flight a couple of weeks ago, the concessions are charging $2 for a 16oz bottle of water. I can buy a case of water for around $4. I don't mind them making a profit, but 800% profit is ridiculous.

When I flew from Las Vegas to LAX a month ago they were charging some outrageous price for water at the gift stores past security - something like $2.69 or so for a little bottle, nearly $4 for a large one! At LAX on my way to Honolulu I got an average size water for about $2.50, give or take a cent or two. At the Honolulu airport I got one for $1.99. I was surprised to get the best deal in the place everyone thinks is so much more expensive.
