Leone is OK.

Thank you for your very kind regards. I am just fine. I walked home yesterday, past the Pentagon, so did see what had occurred. My prayers are with all of you, and I do hope no one from your family or circle was near any of the sites where these terrible things occurred. I would offer my insight, but to be honest, I have nothing of interest to say. And certainly nothing of value. Except to say I really appreciate you guys, and to any I've really pissed off on occasion, and my god, you probably were right, I say hello, I'm still here, and the time will come when you're pissed with me once again. I suppose that will be my contribution to a return to normalcy, which of course is sheer idiocy because that will never again be the case. Take care, and your are in my thoughts, all of you. Your friend, L/Joseph. God, you'll be onto me now. gt;

Yes, Jackie, I am he and he is me, and if you doubt it, just post something about Gatlinburg, and stand back. Yep, and you may ask Olive as well. Trust me ... no one in his or her right mind would ever claim to be me. LOL. Ciao, Leone

I was thought to be Leone for a while...or was he thought to be me? Anyway, trust me, it wasn't fun! Glad you're well and accounted for, Leone.

Glad to hear you are safe, Leone. Also glad to hear from the many NYC regulars. As the eventual destination of those airplanes, those of us in CA were very tense yesterday. Tense and sad.

Leone,
How glad I am to hear you're okay. I may have strongly disagreed with you in the past, but no one would wish harm on you.......that's what makes us different from those vile beings behind yesterday.
I hope those you know and love are safe as well.

Thank you ... we're fine. Just feeling terrible for the people who had families and friends involved. Life will not be the same. I hope our country will act wisely ... we have an opportunity to learn. I hope you and your family are alright. You are in my thoughts. Ciao, L

Ditto.
When I planned my trip to DC last year, so many of you from the area offered great advice. You are in my thoughts, L, Joy, Ilisa, Cindy, Lisa, etc.

Glad you're doing fine. Even though you must order sweetened tea instead of sweet tea.

Leone, sometimes you DO piss me off. Other times you make me laugh out loud. Then there are times I sit and nod in agreement with your insights.

But today I am relieved that you are okay. You make all of my DC contacts accounted for... wish I could say the same for my NYC friends. Thoughts, prayers and solidarity to all.

To Kal: I don't think I have seen a post from any of the DC people I mentioned earlier. However, I recall a post yesterday on another thread that Lisa2 is traveling in Italy.

Hello, Joan ... in sunny FL. I trust TI and SS beach are calmer places than here. Thanks for your concerns ... and as you note, I'm just fine. A bit of a walk getting home yesterday, but I am so lucky. My heart really goes out to those who lost people or still don't know. Take care of yourself, and ciao. Better times will come, but it will be a while. Leone

L-
When the world gets back to normal (whatever that may be), what the hell--let's all plan a trip to the big G and count our blessings.

Glad you're well and my thoughts are with those who weren't as fortunate.

Hi Everybody -- thanks for thinking of me! A perfect example of why I love this forum so much. I'm here in DC (have been back from Italy for a week -- great trip but it seems like ages ago now -- I posted a trip report on the Europe forum) and am OK after a horrendous day yesterday -- like Leone, I walked home yesterday (and walked, and walked...). DC felt like a war zone yesterday and still does, to a certain extent. The sound of military aircraft and sirens is fairly regular. Streets are deserted. Friends and family are all safe and sound, but we're all so sad for the horrible loss of life. The Pentagon burns. Will any of us ever feel safe again?

Life is not fair. All of this warmth is going to make me change my approaches. Change is tough, have some mercy. Quick, give me some relief ... say something nasty to me. Mention Gatlinburg. Ask me about wearing plaids. I hope you won't, but I probably need it. But seriously, I must agree with Lisa about the feelings toward the Fodors board. You guys are really too much. I should have known. Best to you for this day, and ciao. L
