L,
Remember, plaids are OK as long as you wear them with the correct Hawaiian shirt and dark sox!

Saluti tutti, or something my Italian in-laws say...Kal

OK Leone, what's your opinion on monkeys wearing black to a wedding after Labor Day? And should we just leave the children at home?
Seriously, after reading these last few posts, tears are in my eyes. Despite sometimes having differing opinions on a wide range of isssues, the people on this board feel like old pals. to me. This tragedy puts it all in perspective.

Hi Leone,
SO Good to know that you are ok. I thought about you yesterday when I checked in at this site. And Cindy and Ilisa too. Gosh, I don't know any of you, but everyone here just seem so familiar!

Stay safe,
Becca

Lisa, glad to hear you're safe. Yes, Leone, things are calm here. Eerily calm. Our business ( a restaurant) is down...it's hard to go to work each day, nobody is smiling, there's only this growing helpless feeling. Feel guilty opening, feel whipped if we close. Can't even give blood, they tell us to wait a while til the lines go down. All we can do is fly our flags. And that we are doing. Even the tropical storm off the coast is getting a yawn. Evacuate? Sure, no problem. No problem at all.

I am hoping President Bush will declare a national day of mourning soon. then I can close my business and stand proud, and get some of these emotions out. But I guess we need to know who we are mourning first, don't we.

Thanks all for letting me vent.
Joan

Each month, for years, we've worked with a counsellor, a woman we love and trust ... talking about whatever emotions and events are troubling our lives or are making us happy and full of pleasure. We see her this afternoon, and I know you know what we shall be talking about. How life changed Tuesday. So, Joan, fellow poster and human being, vent away ... it's allowed. Encouraged. And I'm glad you trust us enough to tell us how you feel. I will be thinking of you guys later today. A woman in my office has a mom who worked for the army at the Pentagon. I'm told her name was listed as among the missing, possibly in the Post today, I'm not sure. A silent thought for Elza would be wonderful. Ciao.

Leone:

So glad that you are doing well!
I was traveling for 6 weeks and have had no time to visit this site.
I logged on this evening and must say that the one touching thing about the site has been the sincere concern that some posters have for one another, putting all fights aside. The rest of the threads are well..oh well(frown).

At any rate, my very best to you and all of the other posters!
