LAX Tom Bradley terminal security question

I know there’s a great walkway from American Airlines to Tom Bradley now. If you have a flight out of Tom Bradley, can you check in there but then use the security line in terminal 6 to take advantage of precheck/CLEAR and then walk to Bradley?

I don't know for sure, but I doubt it. Unless you're connecting flights, I think you need to clear security at the terminal of your departing flight. We've used Pre-Check at the Bradley Terminal, but AFAIK CLEAR isn't available there yet.

I do think you are allowed to do that at LAX, I think you can clear security at any terminal, and walk to your departure as long as you have a same-day boarding pass. I can't imagine doing what you are suggesting, but I think you are allowed to walk from any terminal to the international one if you've cleared security (excepting for T1, Southwest). I'm not really clear on what you want to do perhaps, as AA isn't in T6.

They have CLEAR at LAX.

I believe Christina is correct. If for example you are using an Admiral's Club Lounge or coming in on a connecting flight, and already have your boarding pass, you can use the terminal connectors and don't need to go through security again.

The time for your ID to be checked against your boarding pass was minimal. I don' think CLEAR gets you much time savings especially just for that time.

It's the actual security lines where you get time savings with TSA PreCheck. CLEAR doesn't help with that, does it?

Sorry I actually meant terminal 4, not 6.

I haven’t flown out of Bradley in years, I almost always fly Delta, but last time I flew out of Bradley there was no pre check and it took forever. But if they do have pre check there now, I’ll give it a whirl. CLEAR actually is the fastest because you go directly to the belts and bypass any lines to get there. But I can certainly survive a precheck line. Thank you for your responses!

If you haven't flown out of Bradley in a while I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the remodel. It's now my favorite teminal to leave from. Even coming back in most recently was much less painful than usual. I think there was some embarrassing publicity over the summer about delays at CBP and TSA and whoever was in charge made some changes with staffing.

According to this website, the OP can do as he described. The website also says the walk between Terminal 4 and TBIT takes 5-10 minutes depending on how crowded the hallways and ramps are, so I'm not sure how much time it saves overall.

I wonder also.. especially factoring in the extra time to reach T4 by vehicle on the circulator. If I had PreCheck on a boarding pass I wouldn't bother, personally.

It was incredibly easy

And it wasn’t far at all. The terminals are closer than most believe. Also, I did not have precheck as it was a new airline for me so doing this and using CLEAR was so easy and convenient because there was no line. The walk was shorter than I thought and I also was here early enough to have no concerns. It was actually nice to get that walk in seeing as I now have a 10 1/2 hour flight.

Just something to keep in mind if you’re ever in a similar position!!

Yes, if it's Terminal 4, you can do it. You can go through security at any terminal and if it's T4, there's a walkway to TBIT. Though the walkway is extremely long and left me sweating, wheezing, and panting last time I did it.
