LAX TERMINAL

I am confused about the American terminal at LAX. We are flying to Honolulu. We are starting at Boston, then to LAX, then to honolulu. I should mention that we are flying with American Airlines. In the past we have always gone through Dallas, which was always a nightmare. We would land at concourse a and have 30 minutes to get to concourse c. If you know anything about DFW you will agree that it is a nighmare.

My question is that if we land at terminal 4 in lax and need to get on our next flight to honolulu via American, do we have to go 8 miles via a tram to get there? I look at the lax map and it only shows one section as being American. Someone HELLLLPP!

American has only one terminal at LAX> If you come in from Boston you will leave from the same building. You may have to walk to another gate, but that is about all there is to it. Gates can be a bit far apart, but nothing like Dallas (my least favorite airport).

Linda,
This isn't correct. American has 2 terminals...Terminal 3 and Terminal 4. Although it would sound like they're next door to each other, they're not because Bradly International Terminal is inbetween the two.
Laura, your flight from Boston will land at Terminal 4 as will your flight to Honolulu so you shouldn't have any problems. The AA flights from terminal 3 are the flights more up and down the west coast and to Las Vegas since AA bought Reno Air. Not sure where former TWA flights will fit into all this since AA bought them as well. Anyway Laura, not to worry. You will only be in terminal 4... piece of cake, and nothing like terrible DFW.
Enjoy Hawaii!

Thanks, whew what a relief! We changed over to LAX because of having to do the OJ Hertz run through the Airport to catch our next flight. We also changed because now we split our 2 flights in half. When we went in through DFW from Boston we had the four hour flight to DFW and then 8 more hours to Maui. It was horrible, especially whereas I am a smoker. Our first leg is in Oahu this time so we go in through Honolulu then home through Maui. Yahoo!

The only time in years of flying that I ever missed a flight was once when I tried to get creative and take American through DFW---hope never to see the inside of that place again. Not even OJ could have made that connection. LAX is very user friendly for the big airport it is.
