Last Minute San Francisco with Kids! (Leaving today!)
I have tickets for the Giants/A's game tonight and am leaving at noon with my three boys , who are all dressed in orange and black already! Usually I am a detailed planner but I mistakenly thought I'd made a reservation and I hadn't. ooops!
I need a hotel that has two queen or double beds in a decent location where we can do a fair amount of walking and have kid friendly restaurants in which to eat. (I dont mean McDonalds... I just mean places where I can take well behaved kids in jeans and t-shirts.)
It's a night game, so I'm not worried about walking to the ballpark. We do want to ride a cable car and just nose around on Saturday, enjoying the flavor of the city, not necessarily planning attractions to visit, if that makes sense. For example, if they think a ferry rise seems fun, we'll do it... spur of the moment!
Thanks in advance!

Are you driving up, so you need someplace where you can park? What is your budget? I'd do one of a couple of things:
1) Check Hotwire -- if you put in more than 2 people, you're guaranteed to get more than one bed.
2) Check Columbus Motor Inn, Cow Hollow Inn, Chelsea Motor Inn -- all are motels in good neighborhoods with free parking, and they're all nearby good eating/shopping/poking around places.
As for neighborhood, it really doesn't matter -- how long are you staying? I'd try to stay in Union Square because it's central, or Cow Hollow/Marina becuase of the motels with free parking and the availability of restaurants, etc. (plus near the Golden Gate Bridge), or Fisherman's Wharf if that appeals to you.
I just checked Hotwire and there's a 4* Embarcadero area hotel for $102 (of course, you'd have to pay for parking unless you stay somewhere you KNOW there's free parking --- parking can run up to $50 a night in Union Square, but there are public lots that are slightly less expensive). According to betterbidding.com, it's likely the Hilton Financial District, which is Chinatown-adjacent, so yet another good area to stay in.

I've stayed twice at the Chelsea Motor Inn and have been quite happy. Clean, large, no frill rooms with free parking in a great area of town close to busses.

Forgot to mention, love the Cow Hollow/Marina neighborhood for walking/shops/eating, and it's proximity to my favorite thing to do in S.F.: walk along the Golden Gate Promenade, from the Marina to the Golden Gate Bridge, petting every dog I come across!
