Last mintute trip!! Pls help!

Hubby made the reservation last night to go to Washington DC (plane lands in Balitmore) and he and his daughter is leaving in 5 days!!!!!!!

I mean in FIVE days!! We dont know ANYTHING about DC!!! He wants to see Smithisian and walk by White House and visit the Lincoln Mountement, etc...you know touristy stuff.

He told me to post this:

He want a nice clean 3-4 star hotel in safe area that is within walking distance of these places meationed above. He doesn't plan to rent a car. It will only be 4 days.
Which hotels fit this?

2) the plane will lands in Balitmore at 7:30 PM. Is there a train, shuttle or what that can take you to hotel in DC? It is going to be dark and I want the best possible safe trip from airport to hotel.

I'll come back with more questions if I think of any. THANKS so much for your help!

Your husband is going to pay top dollar for a last minute trip to DC this time of year. Most places are booked solid.

http://www.capitolreservations.com/

I suggest you try this discount hotels reservation service for DC hotels. Choose "White House" for the area and plug in your dates. Other areas to try are "MCI Center" and "Dupont". Any hotel that shows up on the fist two pages in the 3 above zones will be safe and convenient.

DO NOT choose any other areas (even "Mall" or "Smithsonian" - the zones are so large that they will include some hotels in truely awful areas (like Best Western Capitol Skyline or anyplace in NE). In fact, coming back here for comments on a specific availible hotel from the website might be safest.

Thought I was seeing things at first. Yes, there are some pretty good posts in response to your initial thread on this.

Yes, I found a hotel last night and had coursety hold while I asked Foder's about this Marriott Markham Park and I got very good responses. so I booked this hotel.

Thanks so much for your help! Now, I have to do the airport shuttle service next to go directly from airport. LOL

Any airport shuttle that is not expensive and can take directly to this hotel? Hotel dont offer their shuttle.
