Last Day In Kauai

Hello~

I was wondering if anyone would suggest activities worthy of the last day of a vacation in Kauai, yet won't get you too grungy for the airplane ride home. Our vacation home check-out time is at 10:00 a.m., but our flight out is not until 9:15 p.m.

Many of the beach parks have outdoor showers where you can rinse the saltwater off, and restrooms. You can take a change of clothes, a comb, a plastic bag to put the wet things in, and voila! Not TOO grungy. We once hiked before our plane home, but got much too sweaty & dirty.

First of all check to see if you can have a late checkout. We were able to delay checkout until 6PM which gave us the entire day to enjoy Kauai and then a place to shower and change before the long trip home. Consider a late dinner at Dukes in the Marriott. It's only about 2 miles from the airport and makes a great place to enjoy one last meal in paradise.

Last trip we hung out at Poipu Beach and used the outdoor showers then ate at Duke's downstairs before heading to the airport. Have fun, Harry

Thanks everyone for the tips~I wasn't sure if a beach day was a good idea for the last day, but it helps to know that this is "Do-able!"
