Las Vegas/Zion/Bryce/Grand Canyon

I am trying to plan a trip to the above location the 2nd week of April. I would appreciate some helpful hints especially on weather conditions. What can we expect in temperature varations among the different locations? I made a similar trip last June to Zion/Bryce but have never been to Grand Canyon.

4/5 Saturday Arrive Las Vegas 9:00 a.m.
4/6 Sunday Las Vegas and possibly Hoover Dam
4/7 Monday Drive to Zion – stay at Zion Lodge
4/8 Tuesday Drive to Bryce – stay at Bryce Canyon Lodge
4/9 Wednesday Drive to Grand Canyon South Rim – stay at Maswik Lodge
4/10 Thursday Grand Canyon South Rim – stay at Maswik Lodge
4/11 Friday Drive back to Las Vegas possibly see Hoover Dam if not already done
4/12 Saturday Return home

The Bryce - S. Rim drive is very long...be prepared for that! Unfortunately I don't think the North Rim will be open...it opens sometime in April, I believe, but I'm not sure what date. It's very close to Bryce.

When I was in Zion/Bryce in early May a few years ago, Zion had highs in the 80s and Bryce had highs in the 20s with 6' of snow in the higher elevations. Which sucked because we couldn't do any hiking (trails were icy).

If I were you, I'd skip Bryce since you've been there before and it's going to be too cold to do much there, and it's such a long drive to the South Rim. The three parks plus
Vegas are a lot to pack into one week. I go out there pretty often...we always do 2 parks plus Vegas (Zion is always included since it's the closest).

Valley of Fire, in NV about 55 mi NE of LV, might be an excellent addition. Got some nice petroglyphs and rock formations. It's also off the main interstate. I've got a few picctures in the NV album at http://community.webshots.com/user/bookhall .

Are you hiking in to the Grand Canyon?
If not, One night at Grand Canyon and two nights at Zion might be better.
I like Bryce the most of the 3 places.

If you have been to Zion and Bryce, why don't you try somewhere else.
This is what I'm doing at the end March.
DAY 1- Vegas
DAY 2- Vegas
Day 3- Vegas
Day 4- Grand Canyon(south rim)
DAY 5- Sedona
DAY 6- Sedona
DAY 7- Laughlin
Day 8 drive to vegas and fly home.

Never been to any of these places except, Las Vegas. Want to check them out.

I'll also give thumbs up for Valley of Fire State Park.
