Las Vegas: T.I., Mirage and Monte Carlo

Between these three hotels which one would you pick and why? We stayed at Monte Carlo about four years ago and got upgraded to a beautiful suite so it was wonderful, but I keep hearing that it is becoming really tired looking? Have never stayed in the other two. Liked the location of Monte Carlo because we loved alot of the restaurants in New York, New York which was right next door. Have heard that Treasure Island and Mirage have both had renovations, is this true? Care the most about a nice, clean and comfortable room for the price, uncrowded pool, and good, but casual food and a good view of the strip. What do you think?

A "suite" at Monte Carlo was a big disappointment when we stayed there a little over a years ago.

The rooms are better at the Mirage than at TI; however, the pool at Mirage is busy because it is considered one of the best pools in Las Vegas.

When he goes to Vegas with kids, my DS stays at Circus Circus.
I like the design of the pool at the Golden Nugget which surrounds a shark tank. There is a water slide which goes through the shark tank.
I don't know about the quality of the rooms in either of these hotels.

We stayed at Treasure Island some years ago and our room was fine. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was the location. We like staying further in on the strip so you're closer to the other hotels and activities.

Have you read any reviews on Trip Advisor? That might give you some help in making your decision.

Of the 3 listed, MC is your best option both in terms of location & amenities. As far as the Circus2 comment, that joint is well aged & an absolute miserable place to walk into, let alone stay.

SanParis2, I'm curious. Why di you think the MC is better than the Mirage?

I'm curious, too. Have they recently done a multi-million dollar renovation of the Monte Carlo?

Well, the Monte Carlo is having a great sale right now. Weekday rooms are about $40, I believe.

I've stayed at all three, and wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of them again, so I don't think you can really go wrong.

MC tends to be the cheapest out of the three and I like the location the best. They have recently renovated the bars and restaurants, and it is also attached to ARIA. They also have some great rates right now: http://www.vegashotelspecial.com/ind...l/monte-carlo/

Really what's the difference between these 3 and say Bally's, Harrah's, MGM, Riviera, Rio, Palms, Venetian?
All you need is a room to sleep in, a shower, a bathroom, TV.
Maybe a buffet at your hotel so you could run up and throw up all the sea food.
My rate from NYC round trip is 5 nights at Riviera for $390. I paid $520 3 years ago for 5 nights at the Excalibur.

Not everyone feels that way, including me.

Don't know about Treasure Island but the Mirage rooms have been recently renovated. To me, out of the three, it is the most well located. Not sure why some people think MC is better located than Mirage. But really, I think any of these three would be okay choices.

Oh, forget to mention - personally, I would pick Mirage for location, recent renovations, and pool area.

I tend to think that the center of the strip is located at the intersection that has Bill's, Ballys, Bellagio and Caesar's. It seems to be the center point (distance wise) for going one way towards Mandalay Bay or going the other way towards the Wynn.

I think MC is better located than the Mirage because it is next to the Bellagio and closer to the intersection.

Between all three hotels the OP mentioned, for me it would be a toss up between MC and Mirage, with an edge going to MC because in Vegas I prefer to stay as close to the aforementioned intersection as possible.

chepar, I agree with your definition of the center of the Strip, but not with your distances. Using mapping software, I come up with a distance of 0.4 miles from the front entrance of the Mirage to Flamingo Road, versus 0.7 miles from the front entrance of Monte Carlo to Flamingo Road. Also, Monte Carlo isn't next to Bellagio -- CityCenter and the Cosmopolitan are between the two.

I forgot about the Cosmopolitan and City Center being between the Bellagio and MC - funny, considering I just returned from Vegas a week ago and made a point of visiting the Cosmo and Aria several times.

It seems (to me) a further walk to the Mirage from the intersection than to MC. But then again maybe its because we're usually on the Harrah's side of the road and are forced to walk through that mall area that is always pretty congested.

It's not on the strip, but just off it. We stayed at Club 36 before and absolutely loved it. All the rooms come with kitchens, dining areas and living areas.
