Have stayed at The Venetian a few times and always like it. The rooms didn't seem outdated although obviously not new. I love the bathrooms at The Venetian. Never noticed the scented smell but would prefer that over cigarette smell.
I stayed at The Wynn last December working a convention. Absolutely loved it and of course it was even better because I wasn't paying for the room. If you can get a good deal, I would pick the Wynn. There are so many small touches that you just won't see at other hotels. I haven't stayed at the Bellagio yet.

We stayed at the Bellagio once and were very impressed by the room. I'd gotten on an email list from them and we happened upon a great rate. Otherwise, we wouldn't have stayed there.
I've never stayed at the Venetian - but isn't that the hotel that had a model room to tour when they were building it? Maybe that was longer ago than I realize. The model room was large and nice - but I haven't stayed there to know what shape things are in now.

Have stayed at both Bellagio and Venetian and my main "intangible" was the staff. It just seemed at the Venetian the employees were more pleasant and fun. At the Bellagio it was more like "we'll go thru the motions of being nice only because we work at the Bellagio."
As for the Wynn, have only spent a couple of hours in the casino but it was the quietest hotel I've ever been in. It was like this place is reserved for those that like watching a tennis match rather than a baseball game-if you win, please applaud politely rather than scream your head off.
