We'll be visiting Las Vegas early June 2006 and planning to see "O" by Cirque du Soleil.

How far in advance is it recommended to make reservations? Which sites are recommended to buy our tickets? Does the price vary during the year and is June more expensive than other months?

I believe that regsitering at cirquedusoleil.com entitles you to buy tickets online before they're avaliable through other venues. The website also tells you how far in advance you can purchase, show dates and times, and prices. I believe they are the same year-round, but double-check on the website. Good luck--it's a great show!

Actually we posted our first question, by mistake, under the "California" header. We then proceeded to post it again under the right one i.e. "Nevada"

I think it's three months in advance ticketing open ups, but check the Bellagio website. I would recommend (for the best seats) reserving your tickets as soon as the date opens up. We were in Vegas a few weeks back; my husband wanted to see the show (I had already seen it a year or so ago) and couldn't get a ticket to save his life.

Prices don't vary.

jet, both posts appear in the US forum--there are no separate CA or Nevada areas.

Jet - If you are planning to stay at Bellagio during your visit there are certain seats reserved for Bellagio guests. You could phone the concierge at the hotel and they will make the necessary arrangements for you.

You can buy tix directly from the hotel of whatever show is appearing at that hotel. Bad sentence, good intentions.

Does the price vary??? Yeah, right!! I wish!!!

After checking with Cirque du Soleil and the Bellagio, it seems that reservations for "O" can be made only up to 4 months in advance, therefore we'll have to schedule our booking in February for our June visit. After checking further the ticket prices range from $93.50 to $150, and never varies during the year.

We also checked out another site, ticketsguaranteed.com, where they provide quotes and access to reservations until the end of June. However, the price is more than double than the "official" price quoted. It would be interesting to know how they can confirm a booking if the "official" site for the show prevents this.

FYI - there is indeed a topic for each state. When you create a message you have the option of posting it into a forum i.e. U.S. or Europe,etc... and within each one you can choose a topic. If in the U.S. either General Interest or each state individually, and if in Europe, each country.

As for the question of which "header" you posted under, all I meant to point out is that all your threads appear under the US forum, regardless of which state you select. The selection of a state affects the search function, but otherwise, all the US threads appear in the US forum. Aside from searching, there is no way to bring up just Nevada or California; thus, you had two threads on the forum asking the same question.

This is how many, if not most, visitors to this board access it. If you look, you'll see that there is no designation to which state search topic you chose. There aren't separate "boards" for each state, though you can select only posts for a certain state if you choose.

I wonder if that website you contacted can't guarantee you actual seats this far in advance, but rather tickets in a certain price zone for a certain date/time. In any event, prices don't vary by time of year, and there is no cheaper place to buy them than through cirque or bellagio.

Even though Fodors gives you the "option" to post to a specific state, all posts show up on the general us board. So therefore if you post to three states, your post will show up three time on the general us board.

I think the only "benefit" of the state boards has to do with researching.

It's just a thing that happens when you are new to this board.

We are about to make reservations for the "O" show and have some questions regarding seat selection.

We are considering the 100 or 200 Orchestra section. Are there some areas we should avoid, for example, is section 101 and 201 (or 105 and 205) to be avoided? It appears that some seats have a partially obstructed view of the show. Anyone know where they are located?
