does the LA Times lv ads usally have "deals in january?-web site to ck?
is this a good month to get hotels deals.if
not,then feb/march?

after new years you will get decent deals but it will be cold at night and it could rain during the days.

Just make sure you're not planning to go the 1st weekend in Jan - that's when the Annual consumer electronics show is on - one of the country's largest convention.

I've got room rates in the teens (at Tropicana) in January. But it can snow during January, so pack accordingly.

I've heard Tropicana is scheduled for demolition late in 2003 or early 2004. New pair of hotels going on the Trop's site.
I'll bet rates (and service) fall a long way during the months prior to demolition.

Try just after Winter CES, rates usually will go down quite a bit. Definitely don't want to go the week of CES -- rates go up 3-5x normal.
