Las vegas hotel off the beaten path

My husband and I will be staying in Vegas one Saturday night after a 13-day camping trip in the Grand Canyon, and would like something quiet, off the strip with a pool and some desert scenery to gradually acclimate but not too far from the airport as we leave the next day... Are there such places anymore? any suggestions?

My favorite "way off the Strip" is the Fiesta in Henderson.

You can get a good buffet and even a breakfast before going to the Las Vegas airport.
I once made a reservation there in the morning and they upgraded us to a suite at the same price.

The M Resort is about a 10 min drive to the airport. Rooms are very quiet.

Anything out at Lake Las Vegas is about 35 min.

I wouldn't recommend anything in Henderson or Lake Las Vegas for proximity to the airport. The M Resort might be a good choice, but so might South Point or the Silverton, the latter being a locals casino hotel. But you might also consider The Platinum Hotel & Spa or the Renaissance, which are both nongaming hotels on Paradise Rd. But both may be a bit more expensive at some times than your other options.

While those all look nice I'm enticed by The Four Seasons, not much more (except the Fiesta), though the rooms are very high (hence nice views) which make me nervous...

Tom always recommends that place in Henderson . . . which is fine IF you want to be near the dam. But it does not meet your criteria.

What is your budget?

The Four Seasons is a wonderful hotel (and close to the airport), but I might suggest the Mandarin Oriental instead.

high, meaning high, as in well I hate to use the t word, but you're stuck up there, should anything happen, in any case, may not be worth mentioning. Budget is open, though I hate to spend $400 on one night as I'm not even sure how early or late we'll arrive... And I do want to be near the airport.. the Four seasons had something for close to $300, so almost seemed like a deal

My suite at the Fiesta was under $100. It might be about 8 minutes farther to the airport rental car facility to return the car than some of the places off "The Strip".
The last place I stayed on the south end of LV Blvd. was the Luxor. The inclinators in the corners of the pyramid were a bit spooky to me.
