Is there a best time to check in to obtain the best room possible? If you show up at noon on a Sunday for a 3 oclock check-in will you get a good room?

Hotels in Vegas are different in that even though they have posted check in and check out times, they have people checking in and out all hours of the day.

I know when we go to Vegas, because we fly the red-eye home, we never check out of our hotel until around 11PM.

I guess what I'm saying is that it is a crapshoot. Also, there are so many rooms, there is never a time when a significant portion of the rooms are empty.

I think it is impossible to guess when, on a particular day, would be the right time to check in to a hotel that has 3,000 to 4,000 rooms. Your success in geting "the best room" possible probably depends much more on the profile Bellagio has on you based on the amount of money who have lost in their caisno in the past. In any event, all rooms at the Bellagio are desirable.

Your chance of getting a better room depends much more on the day of the week than when you are checking in (unlike some other cities - when most people are checked in by 9pm or so). If it's Monday or tuesday and there are no big meetings in town you may have a chance - on weekends - forget it.

your best bet is to call the reservations at the Bellagio and make your special requests for what type of room you are looking for..they will note it and tell you that it is a request but not a gurantee. Sunday in Vegas at the hotels can and usually is extremely busy. If you try to check in at noon, chances are that most guests from the sold out Sat. night have not checked out yet and so you typically wont get into your room until around 3. When you arrive at the hotel, go to the desk and check in, they will hold your luggage at the bell desk, tell the clerk "again" your requests and they will certainly check for any early vacancies and clean rooms, otherwise they will block a room for you and then you have to wait until it becomes vacant and cleaned. Bottom line, call reservations make request, upon arriving at the hotel check in right away(don't expect to phsyically occupy room yet), make requests known again to front desk clerk and see what they have available then or what they will have if you wait until your check in time of 3. Have fun at that elegant hotel!!
