Las Vegas - Are white clothes acceptable in Mid-October?

I will be going to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks. I am aware that the weather can still be quite warm during the day but I don't know whether I should be packing any of my whites (shorts, capris, skirts, shoes and/or sandals) to wear on these warm days. I often hear that the old rule of "no whites after labor day" is outdated. Here in Vermont where it can get quite chilly in mid-October, rule or no rule, whites are really not appropriate (unless, of course, they are wool). But in a climate that can still be quite warm, it seems to me the weather would be more of an indicator of what is accepted. Never having been there in the autumn, I'm unaware of what is typically worn by the residents of Las Vegas at this time of year. Can someone with firsthand knowledge help? Thank you.

Yes -- the rule about no white after Labor Day is outdated, especially in warm climates. Plus there is very little in the way of a "standard" as far as how people dress in Vegas. You'll see it all and be hard-pressed to stand out.

Wear white? Just wear *something*! Anything! It does not matter whatsoever! There are absolutely no standards of dress except in some of the most swanky restaurants. You wear what's comfortable, period.

On my last trip there, with my very proper Bostonian mother, we played a little game called, "Guess Who the Hooker Is." It was hard to tell who were the real working girls from the regular guests based on their outfits. So just go have fun!

You'll see anything and everything on others, so don't worry about white after Labor Day.

However, it's often very chilly indoors, and temps drop to quite chilly when the sun sets, so you may want to re-think the shorts and sandals unless you plan to return to the hotel to change for evenings.

HI patomech.....what the residents wear is really not a factor as you will be a tourist among other tourists---unless, of course, you are going to stay with friends who live there and not on vacation.....But what everyone says about anything goes is no exaggeration. You will see Disney-esque to slutty all in the same day!
