What to wear in Vegas
Ok ladies, here's the question. I am a young 50, and want to know what to wear in Las Vegas for my first trip at the end of February. We are going to see "O" and have dinner at Spago and Delmonicos. I think my biggest problem is daytime. I sort of know what I can wear at night. Any suggestions? I do wear jeans at home (usually with boots with heels to dress them up) but can't imagine them in LV. Help. Don't want to look like Molly off the Pickle Boat!

I agree with the last post. Just about anything goes, I like to dress up nice day or night when I go to Vegas. You will see it all while you are there. No matter what you wear, you wont be out of place!! I would, however, dress up for the show and dinner. What the heck, your in Vegas, have a little fun!! Like I said, anything goes, you might as well make the most of it!!

I wouldn't be concerned - for half the people in Las Vegas Molly off the Pickle Boat would be a big improvement. I don't wish to be critical - but IMO as a group the people in some of those hotels are by far the worst dressed (taste - not poverty) I have ever seen anywhere in the world - far worse even than in Disney. Also, never have I seen so many enormous (laughably) fake boobies - it must be the world center for breast enhancement surgery.

If we are discussing fakes in Las Vegas, remember to include the Big Hair, and Plump Lips! I saw a woman in November with the most Collagen over-loaded lips..I tried my best not to stare but I kept waiting for her to speak , I needed to know if they actually move! ..do those droop after a while? What a sight !

Would agree. On and around the strip, just about everyone wears jeans or shorts (depending upon the weather). I was there four times for business last year and felt quite out of place wearing a suit walking about. If you're planning to spend a lot of time in the casinos though, you may want to dress it up just a touch, maybe some nice slacks and tank top with a sweater in case you get cold. Or even a sundress with sweater (again, depending on the weather). I found some kind of cardigan or jacket wonderful considering the 30 degree difference between the casino and the weather outside. And definitely wear comfortable shoes. Even within your hotel, it's a long walk to just about anywhere.
At night people do tend to dress up a bit more, more sequins, sparkles and heels.

Finally a "what should I wear" thread where I can truly say, with no reservations, anything you damn well please! Since Las Vegas is certainly on the short list of tackiest places on the planet, you really can't go wrong.
