Las Vegas 2002 Entertainment Coupon Book?
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has used the
2002 Entertainment Coupon Book. We're going
to LV in July, and I was thinking of purchasing one. Since I can't seem to view a sample (it won't come up for me on their web page), I was hoping someone could let me know if they thought it would be worth it. I've never purchased our local one, but have friends who have here in town, and they love theirs. But, I don't know what to expect for LV.

It appears that no one has purchased the coupon book. haha Sorry you are not getting a reply. To make matters worse, I did not purchase one either. I booked through ATA the last time, I think I did any way. I and my friend got 2 roundtrip tickets and 5 nights at Paris for $500 per person. I don't know if that was a good deal but it worked for me. Anyway, they gave us a coupon book at the airport when we checked in. I really would not suggest buying a coupon book from anybody for Vegas. For one, food and drink deals are everywhere. It is so easy to have a steak and lobster dinner for $9.99 in Vegas. Although your lobster tail may not be very large. Prime rib dinners are everywhere, seriously, you can open a pay phone booth and there is a prime rib dinner right there, ha ha. Of course, drinks in casinos are free, and on the street, 99 cent drinks are everywhere. For a good buffet however, spend around 15 to 20 bucks. May I suggest the Bellagio buffet and the MGM buffet, they are to die for. The breakfest buffet at the Tripicana is cheap and delicious too. Now, as far as shows, I don't think you are going to find that many great deals in a cooupon book. Maybe 5 or 10 dollars off, which I guess adds up. But for the big, fabulous shows like "O", you may be out of luck. The coupon books generally have things like buy 1 get one free admission for a coaster ride, virtual reality ride. Or something off for a spa treatment. A coupon book may be good for discounts on tours. I think overall, I would rather take the price of a coupon book and gamble it. If you are looking for free stuff, join the slot clubs at the various casinos. They always give you free stuff or things like a chance to win a million dollars. Besides, the slot cards are good souveneirs. Now, if you go to downtown Vegas, you could get cheaper food than on the strip, but we are talking about lower quality, I think. One thing to remember Jan when you are in Vegas, is to ask for free stuff. seriously, the resorts will often give stuff away to people who ask. Ask for upgrades, ask for comps, ask for anything. They can only say no, and you will be surprised how often they say yes. Of course, a little white lie won't hurt either. Im sorry for suggesting that you lie, but I am. Chile, it suddenly becomes my birthday every time, get more free stuff that way. Well, have fun on your trip.

I bought the LV Entertainment Book for an upcoming trip. It is very nice but after I look at it I realized that I would have been just as well off without it. I'll bring it with me anyway, and I'll be going at the end of June so I'll get back to you here and let you know how it went.

We just purchased an entertainment book for $5.00. Well worth it. We always buy our local entertainment book (which is $30) so perhaps we got a good deal because we are already members. Alot and I mean alot of coupons in the book from fine dining to fast food.

Thanks for all the info. It will cost us $15.00 for the LV Entertainment Coupon Book, so I'm still hoping that it would help out, especially on our dinning expense. When we visited LV last year, we did utilize the free coupon books, and coupons that were available at the hotels, but if I remember correctly we didn't have too many that we could use for dinning. Again, thanks for the replys!

BUY IT! It'll be up to you to use it. Try Nascar Cafe in the Sahara. Burgundy Room in the Lady Luck (downtown), Sammy's Woodfired Pizza on Paradise Rd. (just a couple blocks east off-strip), just for a few I've tried. There are many good restaurants & coffee shops that are not casino affiliated in the book. All you need is a map. But DO call ahead to be sure they still honor it, or are open that eve., etc. Go see La Cage at the Riviera, even my 80 yr old Dad loved the great show they put on, 2-for-1.
