Lakefront getaway? Help!

Hi there! My husband and I are looking for a nice lakdeside getaway this summer and I'm having a hard time finding a place that has availability on the weekends, and books by the day instead of the week. I am 5 months pregnant so we're looking for somewhere relaxing with air conditioning and a pool Any insight is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Do you care which lake? Or even which part of the country the lake is in?

I don't care about which lake, as long as the hotel/resort, etc. has a pool as well. Midwest or East would be ideal as I'm trying to drive there from Ohio. Thanks again!

Not sure what your budget is or what level of luxury you are seeking but here are some places in Michigan:

The Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City, Michigan (http://www.grandtraverseresort.com/). Traverse City has some great restaurants and quaint shops.

There is also Bay Harbor which has the Inn at Bay Harbor and the Bay Harbor Resort & Marina.

How about the Sagamore (thesagamore.com) on Lake George NY or the Mirror Lake Inn (mirrorlakeinn.com) in Lake Placid NY? Both would meet your requirements.

I did not care for The Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City, Michigan. It is not lakefront. You take a shuttle to the water. If it's golf that you want, it would be great.

Canoe Bay looks really nice, although I've never been.

Kelley's Island & Lake Cumberland come to mind depending on what you want to do. As do the Finger Lakes. All kinds of B & B's on Kelley's which may suit your needs. (+ it's close).
