Lake Tahoe in early Sept.

I would like suggestions for a 3 day excursion with suggestions on a romantic B&B, suggestions for preferred restaurants, spectacular day trips around lake to give my wife a break she sorely deserves. Never been there but it looks wonderful. thanks for sharing.

Beacon Restaurant is right on the Lake--good food and lovely atmosphere. There is a boat tour fro Zephyr Cove that is supposedto be fun--have not taken it myself.

We took the Emeral Bay Cruise on Lake Tahoe out of Zephyr Cove and it was a lot of fun and so scenic. It's was a 2 hour cruise across Lake Tahoe on the Dixie II's which is a paddlewheel.

Stu we go to Tahoe for our anniversary, so romantic is important to me. Black Bear Inn is nice. Restaurants: Evans near Camp Richardson is wonderful. It's in a small cottage on the west side of the road, no lake view. Also Cafe Fiore at South shore is nice and intimate with only about 7 tables and fab food. Lunch at Riva Grill at the Marina gives you a lake view, try a Wet Woody, great drink!

Nice hikes: Angora Lakes out of south shore. Cascade Lake out of the Bayview campground at Emerald Bay. Both are fairly short and not strenuous with good payoff. Also take the Heavenly gondola to the top and enjoy the view and then hike around.

ltt is talking about the Cantina Bar and Grill that used to be Tres Hermanos. It is now owned by the owners of Evans. Here's the link: http://www.cantinatahoe.com/

Itt, I think you are talking about the Cantina Bar and Grill. We've eatten their several times and the Mexican food was good.

If you want good BBQ then try Hoss Hoggs. It's just a hole in the wall type of place but the food is BBQ ribs are excellent!

Utahtea - the hole in the wall places always have the best BBQ I figure that if the owners spend too much effort on the decor, then they must not be spending enough time on the meat!
