4 women (50-65) from Wisconsin are interested in taking first trip to Lake Tahoe. The only dates we can go are Nov. 1-7. What are your thoughts on that time of year?
will the activities be available and still open for the season?
kayaking?
boat tours?
bike riding?
ski lift?
If this is not a good time and between seasons..where would you suggest visiting in the States? I know that's a "wide open" question...but it's intended to be...really curious to hear your favorite vacation spot.

Your not likely to find ski lifts open that early in the season; the one possible exception would be the cattle car at Squaw (there's an ice skating rink on top).

November is usually between the seasons... What are you looking for? Palm Springs may be nice in November.

Like the others said you really are between seasons. It's not very likely that there will be snow yet. The lake will be way too cold by then and I think most of the fall color will be past it's prime but you could get lucky with that.
Tahoe is still nice at that time for hiking in the Sierras. If you are into a Las Vegas type experience you can do in South Shore.

California's Central Coast is beautiful at that time of year. The rains usually haven't started and the fog is gone. You might like that.

Many years I spend a couple of weeks at Tahoe at the end of October. The reason I go then is because it IS the off season. Few visitors, little or no snow, etc. Some things are closed for the season and ski resorts are almost never open that early. But there is still the amazing scenery, dining, casinos etc. The Miss Dixie is still sailing - though a more limited schedule. Modest hikes will be fine, kayaking - not so much . . . .

Mostly depends on what you are looking for.

(BTW - you may have received more responses if you had also tagged the thread California. Nearly 3/4 of the lake is in CA and many more of the resorts/non-casino accommodations are on the California side.)
