Lake Tahoe - Best Beaches

Will be in the area early August. Would love recommendations on beach areas that provide nice views and sand beaches. A post several months ago offered suggestions of Meeks Bay and Sand Harbor - any add'l thoughts?

Gotta get there super early but Bliss on the west side is great. There is a hiking trail there that you can take to Emerald Bay if you feel like getting out and about. Bliss is also a really great starting point for kayaking.

Chambers between Tahoma and Homewood is a nice beach. Not great sand but there is a great historic bar on the pier.

Baldwin Beach on the way from south shore to Emerald Bay is nice. Camp Richardson has nice sand and services like food and water craft rentals.

Pope Beach is nice and sandy.

We were just at Sand Harbor last week. It's still one of our favorites.

There are lots of great beaches - but for incredible views, sandy beach, rocks to clamber over, a wooden walkway through the more sensitive areas, etc - you simply can't beat Sand Harbor.

As already mentioned, Tahoe has a lot of great beaches. Unless you want to drive a bit, which one you use will probably depend on where you are staying. Just remember that Tahoe beaches can get quite crowded in summer, making parking a bit of a problem as the day goes on. It is best to get to the beaches early to find convenient parking and pick out your spot.
