Laguna Hotel help! Laguna or Dana Point?
Hello all again! Looking for some advice from those who are in the know...
Planning to stay two nights in Laguna Beach but I can't decide where to stay! Checked out TripAdvisor and saw mixed reviews for all hotels. Our preferences are as follows:
- On nice beach
- Clean, newer hotel
- Convenient to town, restaurants, etc., but don't mind taking a taxi
- around $350 USD per night
Should we be staying in Dana Point or in Laguna? Please recommend hotels!
Thank you!

Hi! Me again! Sorry, just another point:
Was thinking of Inn at Laguna but scared it will be not nice? Some not nice reviews on tripadvisor have scared me off...Any comments?
Marriott at Dana Point? Ritz? I'm so confused!

The beach is nicer at Laguna. At Dana Point (Doheny Beach) the surf is too big and the beach is not as pretty. Laguna is better for swimming.
However, I think Dana Point is a prettier town. Both have great restaurants. You can go back and forth between both towns in about 15 or twenty minutes.
Also, traffic is easier in Dana Point.
Both towns have great hotels too.

I can't help you with that. We stayed at Dana Point last week.
The beach at Laguna is really nice. The traffic can be something else. If I stayed there I would probably leave the car parked in the hotel and do a lot of walking.
Visit Dana Point while you are there. The marina or wharf area has excellent restaurants. And as I said before, the town of Dana Point is so pretty. You can visit the Mission too while there.
