Laguna beach with young children

We are taking the kids (boys, 7 and 4) to ritz Laguna in march. Would love some suggestions as to 1) great fish tacos , 2) walking around town, 3) activities for the kids if we want to get away from the pool for a few hours. Already know its whale festival weekend when we are there. Also looked into the discovery center in Santa Ana. Thanks!

There is so much to do with only a short drive: La Jolla Coves, Legoland, Disneyland, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Birch Aquarium, Torrey Pines, etc.

Live in Laguna-You are not really in Laguna Beach closer to Dana Point so would recommend for fish tacos at the Fish Bucket next to Hennessey's in Dana Point. In Dana Point you can rent kayaks for the kids and there is a beach there very calm for little ones. Also there is an aquarium at the Ocean Institute where you go with the kids-http://www.ocean-institute.org/
In Laguna The Pacific Marine Center at http://www.pacificmmc.org/about_us.html is a great place to bring the kids for a short visit to see sea lions.

All other places to go mentioned are a whole day event. These things would only take a part of your day depending how long you want to stay. But if they haven't been to San Diego Zoo, Disneyland, or Legoland they are a must for any child.
