Lads vs. Giants - SF

The title looks more like a chapter out of Gullivers Travels, doesn't it?! Real question -- husband is VERY happy we'll be up in San Francisco at the same time our favorite lads will be in town (L.A.Dodgers, that is) to beat the Giants. Ok, probably wishful thinking on my part. I'd love to get some tickets for our family -- decent ones. Are there good tickets to come by -- brokers, whatever, or will this be hard to find. Any suggestions would be most appreciative and win me a few brownie points with my DH.

If you would go to the Giants web site you can click on each home date and buy tickets on-line . . . . .

Oh - and don't expect your Dodgers to be called "Lads" in SF

They will be called LOTS of things - but for sure not lads . . . . . .

I went to the Giant's website and the seats for that game are way far away, but if that's it, then that's it. Here in L.A., people have season tickets, and you can usually pick up a paper and call someone -- was wondering if that's true in SF.

Now, now, Janis . . . ! Seriously though, if we sported a Dodger cap would we get pummeled? I remember an incident years ago in NY when we went to Shea. . . !

Surfergirl - try craigslist for the LA area. There's lots of tickets for those games for sale there (assuming you mean the weekend of 8/11-12).

Or craigslist in the Bay Area. They'll have lots of options.

I haven't had occasion to buy tickets to an event, but I gather stubhub may have the most inventory -- and appears to be very user friendly, with an interactive stadium map so you can easily see where the seats are and prices. Here's a link to Giants tickets: http://www.stubhub.com/san-francisco-giants-tickets/

In the old Candlestick days, treatment of Dodger fans (at least the obnoxious ones - but are there any other kind? Don't really mean it, just trying to perpare you ) was pretty bad.

But at SBC - not so much . . . . .

I've been to Pac Bell (always will call it Pac Bell) probably 30 times. I've sat everywhere from bleachers to upperdeck to luxury box (oh...it was pure luxury . There are very few "bad" seats. The furthest regions of the left field upper deck have visability problems with left field but most of the other areas are fine. Pac Bell is a small ballpark so even in the upper deck you are close (not like dirty rotten smelly Dodger Stadium .

Try SF Giants website, ebay, CL, stubhub, or there are always scalpers within a few blocks (and closer) to the yard. I've used stubhub and ebay (buy now option) several times.

If you end up in the bleachers make sure to wear your Dodger Blue. Giants fans will want to make sure you are welcome and taken care of as a guest in the ballpark.

Have fun.

Yeah - I was going to say PacBell - but since we are talking to a southlander, I didn't want to confuse . . . .

And surfergirl - the "cheap" seats at Pac Bell are some of the best. Up high you get views of the city and the bay as wells a still being close to the action (but why are we helping a Dodger fan anyway??? )

I bought Giants tickets for my boyfriend's birthday in April. I bought them on Ebay (first time I've ever used Ebay). I ended up with great seats on the first level. Most of the listings on Ebay also include a picture of what the view of the field will be like from the seats. Good luck and go Giants!

Return to the Giants website toot sweet and go to the Double Play Ticket window.
This is where season ticket holders
sell the tickets they won't use.
Some good seats are available !

There are some very good seats on Double Play-and some are not too outrageous. Obviously more than face value but that is because most of the season tickets holders has to pay for licenses to get season tickets in the first place. Plus of course the usual scalping!!!

Question: Do they still do those dog shows, where the dog would dive into the bay and retrieve home run balls?

Sadly, the game we saw Friday night ended in disaster for our LADS, but we cleaned up nicely last night! So, what's up with getting a beer or soda in cups marked "BEAT LA!" on them?!? I found it very curious that they have "special" cups for these games! We are so much more polite at Dodger Stadium!
