LA with teenagers over Thanksgiving
My boyfriend and I are taking his two teenage daughters to LA for four days over the Thanksgiving holidays. We are staying at the Rennaisance Hollywood Hotel.
Does anyone have any good restaurant and activity tips for this age (14 &17)? We plan to to visit Universal Studios, Venice Beach, but am looking for other tips1
Thanks,

Hop the subway just outside the hotel's door up to Citywalk, the entertainment complex just outside Universal Studios. Lots of places to eat and shop, and the subway is just across the street so you won't have to deal with traffic.
Fri or Sat night, take a ride down Sunset Blvd to the Getty Center...you'll get a great view of L.A. at night and then can hit Westwood for dinner...it's outside of UCLA, lots of kids, shops, theatres etc.

Magic Mountain is a great idea, but over Thanksgiving it will be packed. If you're going to Venice and the weather is decent, I would visit the Venice canals or, on the beach, rent bikes and ride along the bike path down towards Marina del Rey or up towards Santa Monica.
If you're around on the 25th, there's still tickets through tvtickets.com to see the screening of t.v. shows -- there are age limits, so make sure they are within those limits for the particular show.
I think they would enjoy the Grove -- next to Farmer's Market, which is one our latest outdoor malls.
Get to Universal early because, again, it's a holiday weekend, and it will be packed. That evening, just stay at citywalk for dinner and hanging out.

Lucky Strike for dinner & bowling right next door to your hotel. Take them down on Melrose for shopping and people watching. Grab somethig to eat at one of the many restaurants or take a coffee break while you are there. Have fun.
