LA Shopping/Fun young girls
Hi,
We're going to LA to the American Girl Cafe' and school clothes shopping. Any favorite spots for girls besides the usual Disneyland? Food, fun, shopping etc. Animals, museums, art? Things like Pink's hotdogs or other famous traditions?
thanks!

The El Capitan Theater in Hollywood (across the street from the Chinese Theater) is owned by Disney and is always playing Disney movies, along with some type of display or live show related to the movies:

The Aquarium of the Pacific, in Long Beach, has an area where you can feed the Lorikeets and a stingray touch tank. There are also shows and great exhibits. www.aquariumofpacific.org.
My kids always enjoy a bike ride on the Strand, with a stop for lunch at a beachfront restaurant. You can do this near Venice/Santa Monica, Manhattan/Hermosa/Redondo Beach or in Orange County at Huntington Beach.
The Sunday L.A. Times Calendar section has a Family section that lists kid-friendly theater and exhibits.
I'm sure I'll think of more. Where are you staying and how old are the girls?

Go to the Farmers Market/Grove. Never know, you may bump into a star, plus it's a nice outdoor mall/eating area. This is where Ryan Seacrest goes on Wednesdays to interview "folks" about American Idol from the night before. If you have Am Girl age girls, they should enjoy this destination.
