la to vegas and back for new year

goldy you don't want to do Universal on your first day, schools are out then and it is very crowded between Christmas and New Years. Plus the drive from LAX to Universal on a work morning is a nightmare. Save Universal for the last part of your trip.
If you are driving to Vegas on Dec 28, wait until 10am. At 9am you've still got traffic tie-ups everywhere.

I was looking into the same hotel for another night as well. Anywhere to get discount Disney tickets? Do you know if 1 day is enough for both parks? We are a adult couple and "just want to be there, feel it and have some fun".

So how did it go?
I'm in the same situation and 'may' look at getting to Vegas from San Diego on the 31st Dec 2008
The 'plan' at present is either to drive back to LA overnight 1st Jan 09
or to get a hotel just outside Vegas
for the night.
Our return flight to UK leaves LAX at 6 PM 1st Jan 09.

Since you may have different questions/issues and this is one about last year -- I'd go ahead and start a fresh thread. Your question may get buried on this one since folks often just read the OP and answer it w/o looking at the latest posts . . . .
