We went to the mission in San Francisco a few weeks ago, but I haven't had time to get it up on my website yet. It was also beautiful. Have a great trip!! San Juan Capistrano traffic…you never know…I'd probably not chance it unless you have lots of extra time, and hit the other ones you have listed on the way up.

North of San Francisco, Point Reyes Lighthouse might be of interest or Fort Ross.

The Jesuit U in San Fran has a bit of their campus on top of a hill, which is an historical gem. It's called Lone Mountain campus(????). Very cool old Jesuit building and gardens. Has a good view of the city below, and small cafe with outdoor seating.

Also, the church adjoining their campus is gorgeous.

Of course, the Jesuit U of Santa Clara has a mission that's definitely worth a visit.

I'm thinking the detour may be too much of a headache? Isn't that the section of road between Santa Monica and the Getty Villa?

I'm probably being overly pessimistic but I always seem to get caught in the worse road work detours...although I think the article did say no pch lane closures during the summer.

To be honest, Getty villa was on my "maybe" list already anyway, because I'm really leaning towards the Autry Getty center, or Norton Simon or...you know, my problem is I would go to all of the museums if I had the time How to choose?

'How to choose?"

My personal choice of the three…Getty Museum…although Norton Simon is near the Huntington Library and Gardens (my favorite)...

Wow. Alright, you convinced me, I do want to see Getty Villa! I alread had Huntington down as a definite. Do you think Norton Simon or Gamble House would be better when seen in the afternoon after a morning at Huntington?
