L.A.& Disney
We are four adults arriving from New Zealand & will be in LA for five days, although we have traveled before we have not been to Disneyland, any hints on where to buy tickets, how long we should allow and where should we visit. Any help would be great thanks.

You can buy tickets online:

I would assume it works for buyers outside the US.
Since you're all adults, the "magic" of Disney is a little different than for kids. I would suggest doing a full day at Disneyland itself, spending the evening at Downtown Disney, then doing the next day at Disney California Adventure (get park-hopper tickets) and just up and leaving when you're over the Disney experience.
Other than Disney, Anaheim doesn't have a lot to see (unless you go see a sporting event at the Pond or the Big Ed), so I'd recommend hitting a nice coastal city in Orange County like Laguna Beach, Newport Beach or Huntington Beach.

As this is the 50th anniversary of Disneyland, there are lots of crowds, especially on weekends.
You might want to plan your visit accordingly and a Park-Hopper ticket as rjw suggests is a great idea.
You may also want to consider Knott's Berry Farm if you folks enjoy more thrilling rides (there are other things to do, too). It's in Buena Park, maybe 15 minutes from Disneyland.
Enjoy your visit!

Chele60, I'm glad. But I just got used to calling it the Big Ed...! Oh well-- I'm ashamed to admit that the last time I was at the Big A, I was so stoned I have little recollection of getting there or much else that evening (it was for a David Bowie concert, which tells you it was YEARS ago!)....

Since you will have purchased park admission, I recommend spending the evenings enjoying the nighttime shows at Disneyland or Disney's California Adventure (DCA).
Disneyland has two terrific nighttime shows: "Fantasmic" and "Remember . . . Dreams Come True" fireworks. DCA has the "Electrical Parade." Plus, the parks will look more spectacular when lit up at night.
There is no admission charge for Downtown Disney, so you can go there another evening during your five days in L.A.
