You don't give us a clue as to the rest of your itinerary. It sounds good. But what about somewhere like the "lodge" at Oregon Caves (tons of secluded hiking there as well as the caves themselves. I hope your trip includes Crater Lake as well.

OK, sounds great to me.
Someday I'd give anything to do an overnight or three night rafting trip on the Rogue River out of Grant's Pass, though. If you could fit it in, would be worth looking into.

Frankly, I think I'd consider cutting out Klamath Falls now that I see your itinerary. Make the drive from Lassen to Crater Lake since you won't really have a full day to get out and do any hiking near Klamath anyway.

I agree with Neopolitan regarding Klamath Falls. You could easily drive from Lassen to Crater Lake in one day. I live east of Sacramento and own a vacation home near Bend, OR. I can make the drive in 8 hours with several stops along the way. Klamath Falls has seen better days. Better to skip it.

You might think about spending the night on the way to San Francisco at the Benbow Inn in Garberville. Cute place and in the middle of the Redwoods. The Inn sits on the Eel River. We love the area. Great walks through majestic redwood trees.

Have fun on your trip.
