Keys

I'm thinking of a family vacation in the Keys. Late next summer perhaps? Me, lovely wife, 19 year old son, 24 year old daughter and her husband (same age). Never been there, and wondering where to stay (condo) that is oceanfront? Where in the Keys to stay? Would prefer the Gulf side, but open to Atlantic side. I figure tha water is warmer! Any preferences?
We just want to chill out, snorkel, etc. Not into nightlife really. Thanks!!

Late summer is hurricane season, so check the weather forcast before you go. You will find more snorkel boats in Key West.

I lived in the Keys for 17 years- depends on what you want. Fishing, relaxing and upscale= Islamorada. Nightlife, history, shopping= Key West. The snorkeling is great in Key Largo. No matter where you stay, be sure to get out on the water for a boat ride, snorkel trip or sunset cruise.

I've never stayed here but the condos at the Truman Annex always seem to get good reviews. They are just off the Mallory Docks, a short walk to Zachery Taylor Park (for the beach), and its gate fronts Whitehead Street which is one block form Duval. Kelly's is on Whitehead and this is where the best margueritas live.

It is also about four blocks from the Key West Bight which is where a lot of good places to eat and have drinks are.

It's a start...
