Driving Plan - NJ to Baltimore

I did mapquest and google maps, and both sites gave different directions from North NJ to Baltimore. What would you suggest the best route would be if we leave early Saturday morning? Also, would you suggest going back the same way?

Thanks a lot!

NJ Turnpike across the Delaware straight to Baltimore is the most straighforward. No turns or exits. Some websites will route you on I-95, but I find the Turnpike to be fine the 2-3x per year I drive the route.

Use the turnpike, but I always jump over to I-295 by exit 4, sometimes earlier. Early Saturday morning may not be a problem, but at other times, the toll booth at the south end of the NJTP can be backed up for miles.

Barring any traffic accidents, you will be fine taking the NJ Turnpike to the Del Memorial Bridge. After you cross the bridge, Take Rt 95 South. You will hit a little bit of traffic near the Christiana/Rt 1 exit (Where 295/495 joins up with Rt 95), but after that you should be fine all the way to Baltimore. Take the Ft McHenry Tunnel, and then you will see the exit for the Inner Harbor/Stadium areas.

Coming back, 95 North can be a nightmare. I would Take Rt 97 South toward Annapolis, and take Rt 50 across the Annapolis Bay Bridge, then take 301 North. Jog over to Rt 896 to pick up Rt 1/13 which will take you right into the Del Mem Bridge to pick up the Turnpike North.
