Key West: The Gardens Hotel

I am looking for an upscale B&B in Key West. The Gardens gets rave reviews on tripadvisor- anyone with room selection? How is the breakfast room? We might need a 2nd location for the wedding if it rains

The Gardens, The Heron House, and The Marquesa are my three favorites.

Try this web site... it is great and has pics of the places. A favorite also is Island City House. Gorgeous place and wonderful setting... very quiet !

I've recommended the Marquesa Hotel and the Heron House to friends; those who stayed at the Marquesa raved about it and want to return, but those who stayed at the Heron House weren't as pleased. I'm not sure exactly why but I think they were disappointed with their room.

Generally speaking, the Marquesa gets the best reviews of anyplace in Key West so I think it'd be my first choice. Though I know much less about the Gardens, I think it'd be my second choice...and the Heron House third.

Island City House gets great recommendations, but it really isn't in the same category with the others.

The Gardens is my favorite hotel in Key West. I've stayed at several other places and have friends who have stayed at the few places I haven't. The Gardens wins handsdown.
I like the atmosphere, the location, the setting, the rooms. I hear they've recently done some superficial improvements to the rooms (i e, new bedding, new drapes, etc.).
You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the advice about the Gardens Hotel. Did anyone feel a certain room offered a better view?

Or a better tub, etc?
