Key West restaurants

We’ve been in Florida for 2+ years but have yet to get to the Keys, Key West is a six-eight hour drive depending on traffic. Sunday we are off on a cruise which stops there. Any suggestions on places for lunch? Thanks.

We love Key West. Just returned last week after spending a week there celebrating my birthday!

My favorite lunch spot is Deuce's Off the Hook. Its a block or so off Duval. DJ's clam shack has a great lobster roll and great fried shrimp-it is truly a lobster shack with some outdoor seating. Caroline's Café is on Duval and is also really good. We also like Red Fish Blue Fish on Front Street.
Hope you enjoy your short visit.

My Florida food trip report from a few years ago, which included Key West:

Recent Florida food experiences: Key West, Miami/Miami Beach, St. Augustine

Just getting used to the new format. Thanks very much for all the suggestions, sounds like we won’t go hungry!

Just a quick update. We had a nice lunch at Caroline’s Café, great outside table under a beautiful tree, fantastic weather,March 19. I think we all had the grouper sandwiches, about middle-range or better in quality, very reasonable price. Key West, imo, is being ruined by the day-trippers and I’m sorry to say we were a party of six of them. They should never have built the cruise pier, beautiful though it is. Parts of the town reek from the bars but hey, I’m used to New Orleans and a good rain will take care of it.

Glad you liked Caroline's Café. Go back when you have more time and explore off Duval and the end of Duval away from the port. I always check the cruise schedule when we are there and plan our Duval like activities on days with no or only one ship.
