Key West Package Advice?

Your subject is "Key West package advice." Have you been given a hotel option along with airfare? If so, it'd be easier for us to give you advice if we know what your choices are.
Like SuzieQ says, there is lots of information on this board about Key West accommodations, but if you have specific questions we'd be happy to answer them.

There are lots and lots of B&B's in Key West. The best web site that I've found to do research is KeyWestParadise.com The site is connected to most of the B&B's own websites, so it make it easy to navigate.
We stayed at Ambrosia HOuse a couple years ago for our anniversary. Nice, but I think I like Island City House better. We've also stayed at Paradise Inn, which is also lovely.
Lots of choices, it's hard to decide.

Try looking into info about a place called the Truman Annex. We stayed there in the month of may a few years ago. GREAT condo at a GREAT price. however you are going in november so the price will be a fair amount higher. It is worth looking into though.

The transcient license law has been a hotly disputed issue for years in Key West, but until several months ago it wasn't enforced. It requires a property to be licensed in order to rent for periods less than 30 days.
In a nutshell, the locals were unhappy with out-of-town owners who bought property in Key West as rental investments and never lived there. The result was that real estate prices spiked and lots of nice neighborhoods (Truman Annex being a prime example) were filled with renters who were frequently loud and bothersome to locals.
No place in Truman Annex is licensed and licenses (originally costing $65,000) are not available for purchase. As you might imagine, the people who bought in Truman Annex strictly as a rental property investment are furious. On the other hand, most locals don't want to deal with living in a neighborhood whose occupants change weekly and are always vacationing/partying. It's a difficult problem.

I'm going to KW in June for a week. Got a reservation at Eaton Lodge (1/2 blk from Duval and only a few blocks from Mallory Square. I've stayed at Ocean Key Resort and while it's very nice, it's also very expensive. I'd recommend the B&B route. There are some nice ones on Truman Ave, but that is the main drag and probably noisy. I prepared a database with the pertinent info on the places I found (name, location, prices, etc) and then sorted them by location (Duval, South Beach, Seaport, East of Duval, etc.)
My final pics were: Weatherstation Inn (sunset view and quiet location); Heron House (good Expedia flight/hotel packages); Garden House; Pilot House; and Old Customs House. If you are looking for something a little less expensive, Abaco Inn looked interesting. November will be peak season, so be prepared to pay the higher rates. The weather should be very nice. If you aren't driving, don't even bother with a car. Take a cab and use the trolley (Bone Island Shuttle has a multi-day pass: 5 days for $25) the parking is atrocious and expensive.

For most places in Key West, the high season rates don't kick in until mid-December. Makes November (other than Thanksgiving) and early December very nice times to travel. Heading there myself the first part of November. Now, if I could just get the airfares to come down.....
