key west in may? What's happening?

Is it too buggy the first of may?
What it is it like?
My wife and I are thinking about staying at the marquesa.

The first of May should be beautiful. Late enough to get good prices and early enough to avoid the hot summer. the Marquesa is great!!

I'll be there next month myself, and I wonder how the Marquesa Cafe is. Haven't been there, but have heard rave reviews about the restaurant. Enjoy!

I just returned from 12 days in Key West playing some golf. Here is my review of Cafe Marquesa:

A sublime dining experience. Simply superb. The staff is attentive
to every detail of the meal. Reservations are required...and
yes, they are prompt. We had an 8pm reservation, and were seated
at 8pm. They generally have a new menu every day and cook for the season. The fish is absolutely fresh with innovative preparations that are well thoughtout and nicely suited to show off the fish. The staff is very attentive and the bartender knows his wine. I think he makes the wine selections for the restaurant. If you have an interest in wine, be sure to strike up a conversation with him. You can get in without a reservation, but I would go ahead and make one so you won't have to linger too long at the bar. If you don't see what you are craving on the menu ask them if they will accommodate you. They have a superb hotel adjoining the restaurant. It is a very romantic to stay there. It is close enough to Duval (the main drag) to enjoy it, but far enough not to be annoyed by it. Definitely a special occasion spot. Hope this helps!

The Cafe is great! In my opinion, you should ask for a table next to the window (or as close as possible). Some of the other tables are a bit cramped.
