Key West Hidden Gem Hotels?
I'm looking for a hotel in Key West for my girlfriend's birthday. Would like to keep it under $300 per night but we are going in January so unlikely.
Does anyone have any hidden gems they can recommend?

Ok. It was a long time ago. It still gets really good reviews. We stayed at The James House, a smaller house, across the street from the Mansion.

Have a look at www.historickeywestinns.com We have stayed at several of the properties and they all have character and some rates are better and more reasonable than others. Also the locations are primarily in Old Town Key West and everything is a short walk away... Have fun

There are lots of "hidden gems" in Key West in Old Town. Just don't stay in one of the large hotels and you will be fine.
I like the Island City House.

I didn't care what they added the room was so magnificent, the service impeccable, the views sublime.
We sat in our room in the AC on our sofa and watched the sun set over the Atlantic.
I'll go back to the Hyatt and pay full price.
We valet parked.
