I don't have an answer for you...but I do have a question.
I spend a lot of time in Key West (at least a month each year) and I'm unfamiliar with the Eden House. After I saw your question this morning I did a back search of this board and saw that the rooms with exterior entrances seem to be favored.
I'm curious to know if your decision to stay there was influenced by tripadvisor....whose reviews seem a little unrealistic in their flattery.

Susan since you spend so much time in Key West, I would like to ask your opinion of Best Western Hibiscus and Crowne Plaza La Concha. I know they are not the same caliber at all or that neither has the charm of a bed and breakfast, but can you add anything about either. Believe it or not these 2 had the cheapest rates for us, and since we have teens with us we thought each would be ok. Thanks

Oops, I've made a mistake. I just looked up the Eden House on another travel website and saw a picture of it unlike the picture(s) I saw earlier. I recognize it and have walked by there dozens of times...but still have no personal or second-hand information about it.
linman - I believe I answered your question on another thread. I haven't stayed at La Concha or the BW Hibiscus so I have no personal information about either. The rooms at La Concha have been refurbished in the past few years but are supposedly small. The pool area is a little ragged, but the roof is one of the best places in Key West to watch the sunset.
The BW is not as close to the Gulf as La Concha, but not inconvenient either if you're willing to walk a little.
It has a good reputation for people who are looking for good values (which can be hard in Key West). You'll be fine either place!

Yes, I was somewhat influenced by tripadvisor and a few other sources. It seems a stretch that 90+ reviewers aren't being truthful. Anyone else? Thanks.
