I wish I could give you a good report, but the place is getting just plain shabby. The carpets smell and are stained and the furniture is looking quite worn. We found the staff to be very indifferent and it always has loads of conventions. These conventioneers brings their familes and the place is like mahem. They take over the grounds at night with their special parties. If you are going next week look for total craziness, especially if you don't have any children and are thinking that this "five star" resort is going to pamper you. If you are in the wing over the pizzaria, get ready to choke on the smoke from the type of wood they use. We were coughing most of the night and our clothes smelled like fire. Do not use the video internet system they have. We made them credit back our $10.95 because it would drop us half way through what we were doing. We were there recently and would never go back again.
This is our experience. Perhaps you will have a great time. If you don't mind the chaos and screaming children all day then you should be okay.

We were there 3 years ago and absolutely loved it. I suppose things might have changed since then, but we had no complaints. I loved that you get a full suite with a separate sitting room for the same price other resorts charge for the standard box hotel room. I had two spa treatments while there which were great (though the shiatsu massage was more intense than expected!). The bathroom was huge and luxurious - great tub! The entertainment center was nice as well - DVD player standard and you can rent DVDs at the resort. We ate a few meals there and enjoyed them all. There was a convention there that had group breakfasts and evening events, but I don't see why anyone would have an issue w/this (they were all professionals, not spring breakers!). Anyway, we loved the resort and would return in a heartbeat. I hope it hasn't gone downhill and you have a wonderful time. Just try to be positive - I see a lot of posters who let little things ruin their vacations and I think that's really sad.

I highly recommend this hotel. The pool area was fabulous and not overrun with kids as I saw at some of the other resorts. The rooms were beautiful and very spacious. I also loved the suite. I don't think you can go wrong with this hotel, besides take a look around at your surroundings...it's paradise!

Just to make you feel better - my cousin just got back from the Kea Lani last week. She went with her husband and 2 kids. She just raved about it! And the pics she showed me looked great. She stayed at the 4S last time, so you know she's got high standards, too! I haven't been there (going to the 4S in Oct) but I just thought I'd pass that on.

I'm not sure where you are looking at reviews, but everything I found give high marks. On fodors.com, it is an editor's pick and received an average user score of 4.4/5.
Also, most of the reviews on tripadvisor.com are very positive as well. I addition, the hotel is on Conde Nest Traveler 2003 Gold List and Travel & Leisure has it ranked 23rd in the Reader's Poll Top 100 World Hotels.
I stayed there in May and loved it. The rooms are very large and comfortable... the bathroom is huge. The service was great... never any complaints. The grounds are nicely spread out and there is a separate adult's pool that was very relaxing and quiet. It's true that they seem to have a lot of conferences there, but this was never an issue. And if you do have a problem with your room or anything else, they will make sure the issue is taken care of.
