It was the first Hawaiian island that made me feel like I was truly in paradise.
I loved sleeping with my window open and waking up very early every morning to the sounds of birds greeting the sun.
The clouds were simply amazing. How can clouds look so different (yet be the same) on Kauai?
The little rainstorms that came out of nowhere and then quickly disappeared.
I visited Kauai 2 1/2 months ago and I'm ready to go back!
Enjoy!

Dina,
I do have a file I wrote up with a lot of our favorite things to do and to avoid. If you'd like to have it, just drop me a line.

OK All you Cape Cod fans.........no hate mail.

We're going for 4 days to Kauai and I haven't been there in 38 yrs! So looking forward to it as well so I've been busy reading everyone's comments. We're staying on the North so would like to do a Napali Charters, some light hiking and am wondering about the Princeville luau. Have fun

We stayed at the Pville two years ago and we stayed in Kauai for four/five days and we ended up driving south most of those days - the weather seemed nicer in the south (we went in Dec), but also the helicopter rides, and the $9 dollar golf course was on the south!
We loved it there, but if we were to go again we'd probably not stay at the Pville...beautiful hotel but we felt that most of the places we wanted to go to were on the Southern part of the island
And I'm from Boston, and Cape Cod should not be part of any debate with Hawaii! =)

Thanks Maggi, when I'm feeling stressed or need a pick-me-up I often will watch a slideshow of my trip. It truly is a magical place. We were blessed with great weather IMO. It rained every night, and during the day we had passing showers. But I welcomed the rain, it made the air so fresh and cooled us off.

Me too. Kauai is one of my favorite happy places to go to when the going gets tough. Mine are not as nice as yours, but here are a few of my shots:

Because it is so beautiful, low key, very hawaiian, great beaches, and the fact that it has a law stating that nothing can be built taller than the palm trees so you won't find any high rises to make it look like Miami Beach or Honolulu. Been there 12 times and going back again on 2/15.
