Kauai family friendly restaurants

Hi there. The wife and kids and I are traveling to Kauai for the first time in a couple of weeks. We have been to the Islands a few times before, but this is our first trip to Kauai. We are bringing along 'grandma' and have gotten some good recommendations on nice restaurants for a couple of romantic meals without the kids. However, we would love some advise on some good 'family friendly' restaurants on the Island. For example, Bubby Gumps on Maui has stroller parking and is great for the kiddies. We are looking for something similar on Kauai. Location is not really an issue, as we plan to check out different spots on the Island.

We have a three year old and a one year old. Any suggestions from other parents out there that have traveled to Kauai with their toddlers?

Much appreciated.

I recomment Duke's. Its very casual on the beach! We also like Lighthouse Bistro. They have a children's menu.
On the north shore, we like The Dolphin.
With small children, we find it more comfortable to dine on the early side, than later. Generally less patrons, so if the kids act up there are so many "eyes" starring at you! ENJOY!

Brennecke's on Poipu Beach; Zelo on the north shore, Dolphin, Hannalei Gourmet are all good for family type dinners. Also, for a real experience, try Bubba's for lunch.

When my grandkids come to visit us here on Kaua`i, they're all on westcoast time. With small children (a one-year-old, a pair of 3-year-old twins, and a 4-year-old this time), it's easier for the parents to keep the kids on their "at home clock"...which had them all wanting to eat dinner at about 3-4PM our time.

The kids -- and their parents -- always head for:

Hanalei Gourmet - Hanalei
outdoor dining for the messy ones
flexible menu for kids varying food likes/dislikes
lunch menu is extensive and can sub for dinner easily

Paradise Cafe - Hanalei
all the same reasons, plus breakfast

Kilauea Bakery & Pizza - Kilauea
outdoor dining, good pizza
