g'lou the dog's ... rotflol

kal, I'm blonde, what's a maven? :-?

I'm just mad cause I can't think of anything clever.

Sorry Ashley... I'd tell sis to be very cautious about going in the water in winter... talk to the lifeguards when possible.

Aloha.

iamq.. you crack me up with that acronym. as makai would put-it, rotfl. I thought this was some kind of military student program..or an exam name. no.. kidding..kidding.
Hey, if iamq and PM are in the neighborhood next tuesday(i know a school night),
my hubbie(and i)have a gig at the sweetwater. You can see kenni.com or garrin.com to see the two music groups for that night! ooh.. i think i should add that visiting marin county, california is lovely at this time of year..else i might get in trouble for the complete lack of travel-topicality!

Trip report pending upon clearing my inbox that is so piled up the tray actually broke! I did the first section and am working on the second. I am long winded so I need to pare it down! Plus bad timing...small office and a week before vacation someone quit and we just hired a replacement. I feel like one of those plate spinning acts! (do they still have those...dating myself again!)I promise one in a day or so before my feeble mind forgets all the details!

Egad! Even though George and his daughter -- the ones who run that vacation rental company you've repeatedly posted about -- are friends of mine, enough already with the blatant ads, 'kay?

Luckily, visitors to Kaua`i have many, many options when it comes to choosing a vacation rental company to help them find a place to stay:
http://www.kauaivacationrentals.com
http://www.grantham-resorts.com
http://www.kauai-vacation-rentals.com
http://www.napaliprop.com
http://www.princeville-vacations.com
just to name a few...

Aloha,

We had a great experience with kauai vacation rentals.
The folks there were so nice and helpful and they were very good about answering our questions about specific properties.

annie,
I'm glad I crack you up. Seems like you're in the minority these days around here. Serious advice only, ya know! >

Ooops, sorry about not replying about the show. Thanks for the invite! I am in bed by 9pm on weeknights however. Let me know when you have a gig on a weekend and we'll make the trek up from the peninsula. aloha!

jq,
Tunnels and Ke'e are NoShore beaches and are best put to full use in the Summer.

"Ditto Auntie M....BUT...Some gorgeous shots of Tunnels and No Shore beaches when 20-30 ft waves hit in the winter.

RRanger,
Pretty aggressive stuff....I bet you may throw your plans out the window once you get there. It's been known to happen.

Be sure the lighthouse in open in T'giving Day. Or else you'll be looking at it from the dead end.
It has such odd hours anyway. But worth the wait. Great rangers there. VERY helpful and into their jobs.

As for an interesting ride, take the "shortcut" that connects Hwy 50 to the Nawiliwili area, Kipu Rd I believe.

I still don't know why people would even go to Kauai when you have Oahu and all of it's non-touristy places.

Mucho mahalos

RiverRanger,

I'd suggest you post a seperate post with a title "Like Need Itineray Help for Kauai Trip". You will get a lot more information that way. This thread has been around the block a few times and youmight not get the answers you are looking for.

Kal,

I feel like "someone" is looking over my shoulder and that my butt is in a sling. I am glad you found it useful.

RR, don't have too many of the plans set in stone. Save a few things for an anniversary...ie....hiking the Kalalau Trail. If it is raining, do not hike it. We went ahead in the rain and my short fat legs had a difficult climb. If you do hike the trail, take an extra set of clothing with you (I'm guessing you are staying south) because you will have red dirt permanently on your shorts after that first slip.

Happy upcoming nups.

Aloha i'2
