Kauai Accomodations - Best Beach with A/C

I've been reading many posts about Kauai and researching as well, and it seems that the Kahaluna (sp?) Plantaion on Poipu fits exactly what we are looking for. However, we aren't going until June or July and my husband insists on Air Conditioning. (KP has none) Can someone reccommend something else on a lovely beach in Kauai, that isn't extremely expensive (+- $200 Day)?

Angela, I am married to a wonderful hairy guy who absolutely is 5 degrees hotter than me all the time. I was worried about the AC too, for his sake. We just returned from a Sept visit to Maui and Kauai, none of the homes we rented had A/C. It was not necessary one bit. In fact, it was fabulous to have those cool breezes blowing (we are from Florida). Several nights we even used a light blanket. Read him my post.
Sincerely,
Joan

Just got back from Kauai. When the trade winds stop it is unberably hot except in the water. We stayed in a great place on the south shore Whalers Cove. They told us no one had a/c except Embassy on the south shore. They provided a portable a/c for the bedroom. The Plantation / Shearton area is very pretty but very crowded. Whalers also has the advantage of being right at the primo snorkel beach.
We stayed at a private condo at Hanalei Bay Resort first, (liked Whalers better, though) and they had a/c in the bedroom also. We needed it. Temps got to 90s and high humidity. But the most gorgeous place on earth. I'm still in terrible withdrawal.

Hey aloha girl we stayed at Whalers Cove too. Loved it, loved the pool. It was really windy when we were there so we didn't need the air, though we did run the ceiling fan. I did wonder if there would ever be a time when the condo would get really hot as it faces straight on west. SOOOOO good for sunsets!

I called Whalers Cove today to look into rates for Jan. They were quoting 300+ pr ni. Where is the best place to find a rental there and what is a good price for this condo?
