Just back--Thanks for tips on SF

Hi, We had a wonderful stay in San Francisco. Thanks Easytraveler for the information on tea with dim sum. We loved the tea, and Yang Sing--ate too much!! I tried dim sum at a place in China Town, and ended up not being able to eat it. We rented a car one day, and tasted wine at 3 different places in Sonoma. Our favorite, hands down, was "J". They did a food pairing with each wine. The food and wine was very good. It was elegant with live music. We had a heavy mist that day, but it was still a wonderful time. If anyone is interested in different teas, we spent about 2 hours at "TenRens Tea" in China Town. A wonderful lady told us all about the teas, made us different teas to taste, and was a gracious host. We stayed at a hotel at 5th and Market with a 32nd club view that was fantastic. All in all a totally different world from South Dakota. Merry Christmas everyone.

Hi owa,

Glad you had a great trip. Can you tell me where you found the great dim sum? We will be there in February and have been told it is a must try but I don't want to wind up in the same place you didn't like.

Thanks

Roxanne

Hi Roxanne, The name of the dim sum resturant was "Yang Sing". I can't remember the exact address--just that it was on a side street about a block off Market. Just look in the phone book, and ask because it is was a little difficult to find. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Owa

Actually, it's Yank Sing, and it's at 49 Stevenson street, a small street parallel to Market.

Glad you enjoyed the trip. I agree, J winery is great. Very modern, stunning. It was started by a Jordan daughter. We went there at lunch and found that it was filling enough to replace a meal. They often share recipes. Here's a link- we're returning April 1!
