Joshua Tree National Park for stargazing - Take 2
Hi. My planned Christmas visit to Palm Springs was canceled and rescheduled for Easter week, so I'm going to try this request for advice or recommendations again. I'd like to visit Joshua Tree National Park at night for an hour or so to stargaze, but I don't want to drive myself there. Has anyone used a guide or service for such an activity? I just want to ingest some California bud and enjoy the sky without concern about driving! Help?

I hate to burst your bubble, but it's illegal to possess and/or smoke dope inside any national park, even in states where recreational use is legal. If you traveled to JTNP on your own, the likelihood of getting caught would be low, and there's no risk if you don't enter the park (federal land). A licensed tour guide probably wouldn't be up for aiding your committing a federal crime inside the park, but I suppose you could find a driver who could just take you beyond the light pollution for some stargazing.
